Jody Wilson-Raybould
Jody Wilson-Raybould is a Canadian politician, lawyer, and Indigenous rights advocate. She was born on March 23, 1971, in Vancouver, British Columbia. Wilson-Raybould served as the Member of Parliament for the riding of Vancouver Granville from 2015 to 2019. She was also the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada from November 2015 to January 2019.
Wilson-Raybould made headlines in early 2019 when she resigned from her position as Minister of Justice and Attorney General, citing concerns over the pressure she faced from the Prime Minister's Office to interfere in the criminal case against the Canadian engineering firm SNC-Lavalin. This controversy led to a major political scandal in Canada and brought Wilson-Raybould into the public eye. Since then, she has continued to be a vocal advocate for Indigenous rights and has been involved in various legal and advocacy efforts in Canada.
As a Native Courtworker, law graduate, and councillor with Chawathil First Nation it may come as no surprise that former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould is a guest I’d love to sit down with.
