Teaser Alert: Exciting Plans Ahead for the Podcast in 2023!
New Changes & Features Coming to the Bigger Than Me Podcast
1. New Studio & Angles
The Bigger Than Me Podcast had humble beginnings, starting in a spare room of our apartment where we recorded the first 84 episodes. We set up a small studio in this room where we conducted all our podcast interviews, which added a lot of stress to the process. The original studio can be seen in the top photos, and it's clear that we had limited resources.
Fortunately, things have changed for the better. Tim McAlpine is now the producer of the podcast and we have access to multiple camera angles that provide a dynamic viewing experience for our listeners. I no longer have to worry about whether we're recording or not, and the best part is that we get to interview guests from all over North America. No guest is off-limits, and we can showcase their stories and experiences to a wider audience. It's been a fantastic journey, and we're excited to see where it takes us next.
2. New Intro & Outro Music
We are thrilled to announce the latest addition to our podcast. New intro and outro music made possible by the support of COLLA Films. As our long-term listeners may recall, we have updated our cover art and video intros, but until now, we haven't changed our music.
This new chapter of our podcast will feature live interviews on YouTube, with a standby film preceding the interviews, a fresh intro video, and a new outro video. Our goal is to make the beginning and end of each episode engaging and memorable, leaving a lasting impression on our listeners.
I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Tim Srigley and the entire team at COLLA Films: Matej Balaz, Dasa Netikova, and Camille Candia for their unwavering support. They truly understood our vision and worked tirelessly to bring it to life. We are incredibly grateful for their contributions to our podcast.
3. Bigger Guests
Every host has a list of dream guests that they hope to one day interview - individuals who have impacted them throughout their lives, or who currently inspire them. I am no exception to this. I have a long list of people that I would love to have on the show one day.
For our 100th episode, we were thrilled to have Terrance (T-Wrecks) McKinney, a UFC Lightweight prospect, as our guest. Terrance has overcome tremendous adversity and challenges to achieve great success in his chosen profession, and it was an honour to have him share his inspiring story with our listeners.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting lineup of guests! This includes Justin Clancy, a singer/songwriter who has a deep understanding of addiction and loss, Carolyn Stern, an expert in emotional intelligence, Professor Michelle Lebaron, an internationally recognized scholar on conflict transformation and dispute resolution, and Enkay 47, a rapper who shares his personal experiences with abuse and much more through his music. We can't wait to share these conversations with our audience and continue to bring engaging and diverse voices to our platform.
4. New Website
We are thrilled to share with you the news of the launch of our brand new website for the Bigger Than Me Podcast! As you may have known, we have been using Linktree, Substack Newsletter, and various social media platforms to share our content and updates with our listeners. However, we have been working hard to create a dedicated home for our supporters to stay up-to-date on all things related to our podcast.
Our new website will serve as a central hub for our audience where they can easily access all of our past and current episodes in one place. With over 15 different podcast platforms, it can be challenging for listeners to find us. However, with the new website, they will be able to listen to us directly on the site without having to navigate through multiple platforms.
One of our goals with the new website is to create a community around our podcast. We want to hear from our listeners and create a space where they can share their thoughts, insights, and feedback with us. We will have a contact page where our listeners can reach out to us directly and provide us with suggestions for future episodes or simply share their thoughts on a particular episode.
We are excited about this new chapter for our podcast and look forward to sharing it with our loyal supporters. We hope that our new website will make it easier for our audience to engage with us and stay connected with our show.
