On November 2, 2023, we ventured into uncharted territory by hosting our first-ever LIVE event at Studio C in Cowork Chilliwack.
The air was electric, buzzing with excitement as we welcomed 60 guests into our sold-out venue. The star of the night? None other than the talented singer-songwriter, Rebecca Sichon.
Our event wasn't just about music; it was a celebration of culture and flavors. We served fresh bannock, a nod to my Chawathil First Nation heritage, alongside a mouth-watering array of foods like delicious pizza and slow-roasted turkey sandwiches.
The drinks? A dazzling variety, from whisky to hard Pop Shoppe drinks, Maan Farms Raspberry Wine, Salt Spring Wild Cider, to the intriguing chocolate beer. I personally welcomed each guest, serving drinks at the entrance, adding a personal touch to their experience.
Acknowledging our diverse crowd, we even set up an introverts lounge. It was a thoughtful inclusion for guests preferring a quieter, more low-key experience. This gesture showed our commitment to making everyone feel comfortable and included.
As the lights dimmed, Rebecca took the stage, her voice weaving a spell over the audience. But this wasn't just a concert. Between her soulful performances, I had the privilege of delving into her life - discussing her early childhood, her burning passion for music, and her extraordinary vocal talent. It was a rare glimpse into the person behind the melodies, making the evening uniquely personal and engaging.
The feedback was unanimous – everyone had an incredible time!
Organizing such an event was no small feat. It demanded a lot of trust from our guests – their time, money, and attention.
The pressure to perfect every detail was immense. But seeing the joy and satisfaction on everyone's faces made it all worthwhile. It was a night that celebrated community, culture, and the unifying power of music, leaving us all eagerly anticipating our next big event - which should be coming in February or March of 2024.
